| I currently use a Paul Reed Smith Custom 24, Ibanez SZ520QM guitar, Yamaha APX4 sycamore acoustic with a GT3 effects processor, into a Yamaha EMX88s stereo powered mixer, and two Yamaha speakers. You can mouse over the PRS image to the left to see the Ibanez. I also use a Roland GR300 Guitar, originally made by Ibanez (I think). It has 2 humbuckers, volume and tone control, along with various controls for the GR300 synth module. The original synthesiser doesn't work too well now, so I'm not using it currently. I'd like to move to one of the new Midi based systems... one day! |

Boss GT3 multi effects
unit. Distortion, crunch, clean sounds, wah, pitch shift, flange, phase, compression, and a spot of equalisation are all effects that I use throughout the songs. |

Peavey KB60 amp. Ok, this is not your traditional guitar amp, it's a keyboard amp. I try to go more for a hi fi sound, and generate the sounds I want before getting to the amp. Guitar amp purists consider this heresy, but I've always felt happier with this arrangement, and I'm sticking with it! |
I was born in Fulham
in 1958, and I moved to Benfleet when I was about 18 months old. I first met
"The Manch" at school. We experimented
with sounds by building electronic oscillators, and I built my first "Guitar"
(a generous description!) by taking a plank of wood and a telephone microphone,
and stretching copper wires down the plank and over the microphone. The sound
this produced was quite interesting! Tuning stability was not relevant at this
time! Eventually we progressed onto "real" instruments, and having
met up with "Supersonic", we used to jam
for hours, and break all the rules musically!
In my late teens I went to university, and it was during this time that I gave
my life to God through Jesus. I have been relating to God ever since, sometimes
fervently, sometimes barely! One thing I have always found strange since that
time is that christians had real problems with rock music, and yet I believe
it can be such a releasing music form.
I still find even after many years of playing and song writing, some of the
best musical ideas seem to "happen", just popping out of thin air.
I really believe that a lot of this is from the Holy Spirit, who guides our
lives, inspires us and refreshes us!
I have been involved in various musical projects, but this style of band has
always been my first love musically, and working with the current line up is
excellent! It's great to be back into it. Hope you enjoy our music as much as
we enjoy expressing it.
I also teach 'Guitaristry' and for more info about learning the art of guitar visit www.guitaristry.com or contact me at Guitaristry.
